Dr Geoff O’Brien

Geoff O’Brien (B.Sc. (Hons), Grad. Dip. Ed., Cert IV TAE, Sc. Ed. D.) has the primary responsibility for SCHMICs administrative and record management systems. Since 2015 Geoff has lead the analysis of data collected as part of measuring impact on teacher thinking across schools implementing the Learning thinking SCOPE.

Geoff has extensive experience in the design, development and implementation of professional learning programs and associated information management systems in NSW, founded on evidence-informed practice. He was the architect of the My PL@Edu Professional Learning information management database system in NSW DEC. He also has extensive experience in survey design and development and e-learning. He has over 25 years teaching experience in NSW schools and TAFE including work as a computer systems manager and eight years as a senior education officer with NSW DEC. He holds a Doctorate in Science Education from Curtin University of Technology, WA.
